APEX STORM TOURS – MAYHEM IN MAY TORNADO EXPEDITION May 22 – May 30, 2027 Late May is widely considered the peak of tornado season across the Great Plains. Powerful storm systems, rich Gulf moisture, and favorable wind patterns can combine to produce breathtaking supercells, giant hail, incredible lightning displays, and tornadoes. The Peak Tornado Alley Expedition is Apex Storm Tours' premier 9-day, 9-night storm chasing adventure. Based out of Oklahoma City, we will travel wherever the forecast leads us in pursuit of the best severe weather opportunities available. Our chase territory includes Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, eastern Colorado, South Dakota, and beyond. Each day begins with a weather briefing where you'll learn how storm chasers identify target areas and make forecasting decisions. From there, we'll hit the road in search of the day's most promising storms while maintaining a strong focus on safety and positioning. It's about watching the atmosphere come alive, standing beneath a rotating supercell, capturing incredible photographs, and sharing the adventure with fellow weather enthusiasts from around the world.
