FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What is a storm chasing tour?

A storm chasing tour is a guided experience where guests travel through Tornado Alley in search of severe weather such as supercell thunderstorms, lightning, and—when conditions allow—tornadoes. Each day is driven by real-time forecasting and weather conditions.

Do you guarantee tornadoes?

No storm chasing company can guarantee tornadoes. Severe weather is unpredictable by nature. However, Apex Storm Tours uses professional forecasting tools, experience, and strategy to maximize the chances of seeing significant storms safely.

How long are the tours?

Most Apex Storm Tours are 5-day-5 night guided storm chase experiences. Each tour begins and ends on the listed dates, with daily travel based on where storms are expected to develop.

Where do the tours take place?

Tours operate across Tornado Alley, which may include Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota, and surrounding areas depending on weather patterns.

Is storm chasing dangerous?

Severe weather can be dangerous if done improperly. Safety is always the top priority on Apex Storm Tours. Decisions are made using real-time radar, forecasting models, and years of experience. Routes are planned to avoid unnecessary risk while still providing incredible viewing opportunities.

Do I need storm chasing experience?

No experience is required. Many guests have never chased storms before. Everything is explained along the way, including storm behavior, forecasting basics, and safety procedures.

How many people are on each tour?

Tours are kept small and personal to ensure comfort, safety, and better viewing opportunities. Limited seating allows for more hands-on guidance and a better overall experience.
