Mayhem in May – 9-Day Tornado Alley Tour May 22–30, 2027 Late May is one of the most active and exciting periods of severe weather season across the Great Plains. Warm Gulf moisture, powerful upper-level storm systems, and strong wind shear can come together to create the environment for massive supercells, incredible lightning, giant hail, and tornadoes. Mayhem in May is a 9-day, 9-night storm chasing expedition built around one simple goal: go where the best storms are. Based out of Oklahoma City, each morning begins with a detailed weather briefing as we analyze forecast models, surface observations, moisture, instability, wind shear, and storm development to determine our target for the day. Once the target is chosen, we hit the road. There is no predetermined daily route. The atmosphere decides where we go. One day could take us across the Texas Panhandle, the next into western Kansas, Nebraska, eastern Colorado, or even the Northern Plains. If the best severe weather opportunity is hundreds of miles away, we’re going after it. Guests aren't simply along for the ride. You'll get an inside look at how we forecast severe weather, choose a target, position around supercells, and make decisions as conditions change throughout the day. And while tornadoes are always the ultimate prize, they're only one part of storm chasing. You will experience towering supercells stretching across the Plains, incredible storm structure, powerful lightning displays, hail-filled storm cores, dramatic sunsets, and some of the most impressive skies you'll ever see. No tour company can guarantee a tornado. After the chase, we'll settle in for a sit-down dinner, talk about the day's storms, share photos and videos, and prepare to do it all again the next morning.
